Terms of use.

Last updated May 3, 2026. Subject to revision pending legal review; the version posted at the time of access governs.

These terms govern your use of CrossingHQ. By accessing the site, subscribing to the newsletter, or submitting a form, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Editorial content is informational, not advice

Everything we publish is for general informational purposes for prospective cross-border property buyers. It is not legal, tax, financial, immigration, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for working with a qualified professional licensed in the relevant jurisdiction. Laws, tax thresholds, exchange rates, and market conditions change. Numbers and rules cited in articles are dated to the month of publication; older articles may no longer reflect current rules. Verify before acting.

CrossingHQ writers are journalists and operators with subject-matter experience. We are not your attorney, accountant, or fiduciary. No reader-relationship — including reading the site, subscribing, or emailing us — creates any such relationship.

No warranty

We work to publish accurate content and to update it when material conditions change. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or error-free. The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, CrossingHQ and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Property purchases, financing decisions, and tax positions involve substantial sums and material risk; the decision to act on any information published here is yours alone.

Intellectual property

Content on the site — articles, calculators, original research, photography we commission, and the CrossingHQ wordmark — is owned by CrossingHQ or licensed to us. You may save and share short excerpts (under 200 words) for non-commercial purposes with clear attribution and a link to the source page. Republication, commercial use, scraping, automated downloading, training of AI models, and any other systematic copying require prior written permission. Use the contact form with the "Legal" topic for licensing inquiries.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to: violate applicable law; impersonate any person or entity; harvest emails or personal information; circumvent security or rate-limiting controls; introduce malware; conduct automated scraping outside what robots.txt permits; or attempt to access non-public areas of the system.

Third-party links

Articles cite external sources — government agencies, statute texts, news reports, vendor websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, practices, or any transactions you enter into with them.

Forms and submissions

When you submit the newsletter or contact form, you confirm the information you provide is yours and is accurate. We handle that information as described in our Privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our practices evolve or as law requires. Material changes will be summarized in the newsletter. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CrossingHQ is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Counsel will finalize the specific jurisdiction and dispute-resolution clauses during review. In the meantime, please contact us first if a concern arises — most issues are resolvable quickly by email.
